Yvonne Marie Bowker Nichols

Yvonne Marie Bowker Nichols, 87, of Lowell passed away July 18, 2022 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.  She was born on March 1, 1935 to the late Lawrence and Florence Bowker.  She is also preceded in death by her husband in 2017, Darrell “Nick” Nichols; daughter, Tonee Norris; three sisters; and seven brothers.  Yvonne was a member of Independent Baptist Tabernacle Church in Dallas and was also a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.  After 30 plus years, Yvonne retired from Pharr Yarns in McAdenville.   She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Gigi and she was also known as “the bowling mom.”  Yvonne was a friend to all and one of the sweetest people you could ever know.

Survivors include her children, Becky Wright, Joe Nichols, Robyn Nichols, and Jeff Nichols and wife Michelle; grandchildren, Brooke, Michael, Wesley, Tosha, and Stephanie; and great grandchildren, Kurtis, Raven, Roman, and Journey.

Memorial services to celebrate Yvonne’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2022 at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services, Mt. Holly with Rev. Jeff Nichols and Rev. Brian Spargo officiating with special speakers, Jeff Johnson and Frankie Isaacs.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m.  – 6:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.  Inurnment will be private.
