William Lawrence Elmore

May 3, 1932 — July 25, 2020

William Lawrence Elmore, 88, of Mount Holly, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Knox County, Kentucky on May 3, 1932, the son of the late William and Nellie Shires Elmore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Colleen O'daniel Elmore; children, Danny Elmore, Johnny Elmore, Lucinda Woody, Diane Elmore; siblings, Shelby Jean Elmore, Helen Elmore, and Fairmay Holt. William was a member of Family Worship Center in Mount Holly and served his Country in a Gunnery Unit of the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing and going to the beach. He had a big heart and would help anyone who needed it. Above all, he loved his family.

William is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Patrick Rushford; daughter, Bonita Elmore; son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Sissy Elmore; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, 12:00 PM, at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services of Mount Holly, with Wayne Goude Jr. officiating.

Due to COVID-19, social distancing and face coverings are suggested.
