Warren Eugene York

Warren Eugene York, 72, of Charlotte, NC who was born and raised in Shuffletown, passed away on July 9th. Warren started his own company, D.C. Electric, and was self-employed for over 44 years before retiring. He loved his family and drag racing. Many of his weekends were either spent at the drag strips or barbecuing by the pool.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Brooks and Ruth (Harwood) York, his brothers R.B. York Jr., and Ronald Dean “RD”.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Tarlton York, son, Brian (Brenda); daughters, Heather (Jason) and Hollie; granddaughters, Graciella, Montana (Ryan), Ashley; and great grandchildren Reece and Raleigh.

A Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Benson Funeral Services 101 Oak Grove St, Mt. Holly, NC. Visitation 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial following service at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC.
