Vera Juanita Pearson Watkins

Vera Juanita Pearson Watkins, affectionately known as "Neit," peacefully departed this life on March 31, 2026, at her residence. Born on September 11, 1940, in Cleveland County, North Carolina, she lived a full and meaningful life marked by deep faith and loving devotion to her family and community.

Juanita was a cherished member of Westview Baptist Church, where she nurtured her spiritual journey and upheld her commitment to her faith. Her life reflected the principles and compassion she embraced through her church and throughout her years.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Aaron Watkins, whose memory she held dear throughout her life. Also 6 brothers and 1 sister.

Juanita leaves behind a devoted family who will forever honor her memory. Her children, who will carry forward her legacy of strength and love. . Her legacy extends through her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each a testament to the enduring love she sowed within her family.

She is remembered fondly by her siblings—one sister and one brother—and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom were touched by her kindness and spirit.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Juanita Pearson Watkins will be held on April 4, 2026, from 2:00 PM at Love Memorial Baptist Church, located at 311 E Walnut Ave, Gastonia, NC, with Rev. Mike Criswell and Rev. Scott Rudisill officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Friends, family, and community members are invited to gather in remembrance and thanksgiving for her life.

Burial will be at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC on Monday April 6, at 10:00 am.

Juanita's journey on this earth may have ended, but the light she shared continues to glow brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. Her steadfast faith, love for family, and gentle spirit remain an inspiration to many. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
