Vera Grace Hartzell, cherished minister, devoted mother, and beloved prankster, passed away on October 4, 2024. Born on December 28, 1936, in Forward Township, Butler County, PA, Vera's journey through life was marked by her unwavering faith, love for her family, and a spirit that took her across the globe.
Together with her husband, Howard John Hartzell, Vera dedicated her life to spreading the Gospel as they ministered at Zion Full Gospel Church in Moon Township, PA. Their shared passion for their faith knew no bounds, as they traveled to various countries, touching countless lives and leaving an indelible mark on those they encountered. Vera’s commitment to the Lord was a testament to her deep belief in showing love, kindness to all, and serving others. Vera was a truly selfless person.
Vera had a zest for life that extended beyond her spiritual pursuits. She adored the beach and found great joy in the warmth of the sun and the soothing sound of the waves. However, her greatest love was for her family. She cherished her children, Janna Sullivan, Joanna Goodwin (Philip), John H. Hartzell, and Jaylene Hartzell, proudly watching them grow and thrive in their own lives. Her heart swelled with pride for her two grandsons, Richard Goodwin and Connor Sullivan (Selena), who were the light of her life.
Vera was not only a pillar of strength but also a spark of joy. Known for her playful spirit, she was a natural prankster who loved creating unforgettable memories with her family and friends. Anyone who knew Vera understood that one should always be on the lookout for her next opportunity to share a laugh or a heartfelt joke. Her laughter resonated with all who were fortunate enough to share in her vibrant life. Not many people knew but Vera was also a very talented artist who took pleasure in allowing her artistic capabilities to shine through.
She leaves behind her loving children, her brothers, Larry Fehl and Dale Fehl (Linda), and the joy of her grandsons, who will carry forward the values and love she instilled in them. Vera is also reunited in spirit with her beloved husband, Howard, her parents, Delmer and Myrtle Fehl, and her sister, Marilyn Bissett.
