Tommy Jack Hovis

Tommy Jack Hovis, 69, of Gastonia died April 7, 2015, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville. Mr. Hovis was born in Gaston County on Nov. 10, 1945, to the late Olin and Lois Lowe Hovis. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Hovis.

Mr. Hovis was owner and operator of Hovis Heating & Air for 40 years.

Survivors include his life partner Phyllis Sellers; children, Robert Hovis, Karen Beam (Rodney), Laura Mauna (Jimmy), Lynn Spargo (Jerry Lewis); brother, James "Jim" Hovis; and 6 grandsons, Dalton, Alex, Jessie, Ethan, Drew, Ian, and his beloved pet dog, Guizmo.

He is also survived by special friends Johnny Pennington, Richard Brandon, Marylynn Curry, Daryl Brown, and Joe Williams.

Services will be held privately by the family at a later date.
