Timothy "Tim" Darrell Wilson Sr., a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and steadfast friend, was born in Gaston County on February 5, 1960, to the late Everett Carl Wilson and Clara Gordon Wilson. Tim's journey on this earth came to a peaceful close on August 20, 2025, at his residence, as he embraced the loving arms of his Lord and Savior in his eternal home of Heaven.
Tim's life was a beautiful testament to love and service. He was a past member at Crowders Mountain Baptist Church, where he made significant contributions by running the sound system and driving the church van, helping others connect spiritually. His unwavering faith was a cornerstone of his character, inspiring everyone around him.
His passion for life was evident in his love for motorcycling, particularly on his beloved Harley, which he affectionately named "Trigger." The open road brought him joy, just as fishing and beach outings did. Tim's adventurous spirit was matched only by the warmth of his heart, which radiated towards his family. He especially cherished his grandchildren—Destiny (Kam), Hannah, Lily, Gracie, and Zayne—who filled his life with boundless love and joy. Tim also delighted in the company of his great-granddaughters, Lana and Leia, who brought him countless moments of happiness.
Tim leaves behind his devoted wife of 26 years, Lisa Hager Wilson. He is also survived by his sisters, Janice Nance (Wister), and Vivian Kelly (Larry). His loyal companion, his pet dog, PJ, remained a source of comfort and friendship to him throughout his life. Tim's presence will also be profoundly missed by his best friend, Sambo (Denise) and also Jennifer, who shared many adventures and heartfelt moments with him.
Though Tim's physical presence is no longer with us, he leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Christy Hicks; son, Timothy Darrell Wilson Jr.; grandson, Josh Hicks; and brothers, Ronnie Wilson and Robbie Wilson, as well as his dear niece, Donna Hiland. Each person he lost held a special place in his heart, and he is now reunited with them in eternal peace.
A visitation will be held in his honor on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a memorial service officiated by Rev. Larry Laws at 4:00 PM, both at Crowders Mountain Baptist Church, located at 125 Mayberry Ln, Kings Mountain, NC 28086.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Crowders Mountain Baptist Church, 125 Mayberry Ln., Kings Mountain, NC 28086.
As we gather to remember Tim, we will celebrate the remarkable life he lived, the love he shared, and the indelible mark he has left on our hearts. His spirit will forever inspire us to cherish each moment and love those around us with the same fervor he exemplified every day.
