It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Sharon Yow Nettles, who departed this life on July 10, 2025, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, at the age of 61. Sharon was born on December 31, 1963, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, to Joe Abernathy and Phyllis Kay Weaver Abernathy. From her earliest days, Sharon carried with her a quiet strength, a deep compassion, and a boundless love for her family.

She is survived by her children, David Keith Marthers, Samantha Hartsell Lott, and Julie Marie Nettles, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Sharon’s legacy lives on in her cherished grandchildren — Brentley, Destiny, Caleb, Makenzie, and Makinley — and her precious great-grandchildren, Oakleigh and Easton (Luka), who brought her immense joy and pride. Though her time with us was far too short, Sharon’s love and memory will endure in the lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and family — a light that will continue to shine through those she loved.

A service will not be held to honor Sharon’s wishes. The family asks that you hold your loved ones a little closer today — just as Sharon always did.
