Russell "Gene" Cook

Russell “Gene” Cook, 81, of Shelby passed away June 8 at Brian Center Cabarrus in Concord, NC. Mr. Cook was born in Cleveland County May 9, 1935 to the late Russell Julius Cook and Minnie Lorance Cook. Gene was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth J. Cook. Brothers, Jimmy Lewis Cook, Bobby Ray Cook and Hershell Frank Cook. Gene was an electrician with Duke Power before retiring.

Survivors include his daughters, Audrey Ruth Pheagin and husband Ed and Sherria Jean Cook. 5 Grandchildren, Amanda, Katie, Robbie, Janie, Selena and also 8 great grandchildren. 4 sisters, Millie Beaver and husband Warren of Shelby, Lena Hill of Shelby, Faye Ketterman of Old Fort and Brenda Strickland of Kings Mountain.

Services were held privately by the family on Saturday June 11 at Mt. Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain.
