Rosemary Norris

Rosemary H. Norris, 70, of Gastonia, passed away April 27, 2017 at her residence.  She was born in Union, S.C. on November 25, 1946 to the late James and Pearl Smith Hunt.  Rosemary was an avid shopper and was known as a “shopaholic.”  She enjoyed traveling, taking tour bus trips, going to the beach and mountains, and loved spoiling her grandchildren.  She was a longtime member of Lakeview Baptist Church in McAdenville.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Johnny M. Norris Sr.; Children, Johnny M. Norris Jr. (Tracey), and Cindy Leming (Dale); Brothers and Sisters, Cynthia “Possum” Hord (James), James “Jimbo” Hunt (Regina), Jimmy “Blue Eyes” Hunt (Louise), Steve “Bald Head” Hunt, and Patty “Slickhead” Hawkins (Lebo Burgin); Grandchildren,  Stephanie “Tough Angel” Drum (David), Amanda Johnson (Stephen), Courtney Leming, Nicole Millwood (Dakota “Coyote”), Heather Leming (Clint Jenkins), Maria Finger, and Cheyenne “Tiny Tiny” Leming; Great-Grandchildren, Khloe Johnson, Drake “Cam” Drum, and Zoey “ZoZo” Johnson.

Funeral services to celebrate Rosemary’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 30 at Lakeview Baptist Church in McAdenville with Rev. Buck Harper officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia.  Pallbearers will be Billy Thornburg, Bobby McCall, Clint Jenkins, Lebo Burgin, Timmy Hunt, and Michael Hunt.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Lakeview Baptist Church, 143 Church St., McAdenville, NC 28101 or to Sons of Thunder Motorcycle Ministries, 1921 East Marion St., Shelby, NC 28150.
