Rosalie Deese

Rosalie Butner Deese, 80, of Mount Holly, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 at her residence. She was born on April 18, 1938 in Stanly County, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Virgin Butner and Valarie Gainey Butner. Rosalie retired from the Mecklenburg County Register of Deeds office and always worked hard to take care of her children. She was a very funny lady who enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, and watching NASCAR. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Don Butner. Rosalie is survived by her children, Cathy Snuggs of Mount Holly, Carolyn Hucks of Matthews, Michelle Deese of Gastonia, Eugene Snuggs of Atlanta, Georgia; sister, Billie Sherrill of Albemarle; grandchildren, Chrystal Snuggs of Mount Holly, Travis Deese of Iron Station, Chad Jennings of Indian Land, South Carolina, Chris Hucks of Charlotte, Danyelle Stephen of Fort Mill, South Carolina, Olyvia Brown of Gastonia, Carla Snuggs of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Deon Reid of Gastonia; nine great grandchildren; and her canine companions, Kilo and Muggsy.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, 3:00 P.M. at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia.
