Roger Clement Padgett

Roger Clement Padgett, 85, of Ellenboro, NC passed away on December 29, 2022 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.  He was born in Rutherford County on February 16, 1937 to the late Leon Clement Padgett and Daisy Lee Carpenter Padgett.  He is also preceded in death by his wife, Joann Newton Padgett.   Roger had a strong work ethic and believed in providing for his family.  He was a man of few words, not wanting to be a bother to anyone.   In 2010, he went to college to get his Associates Degree.  He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Survivors include his son, Montgomery "Monty" Padgett and wife Robin; daughter, Freda Padgett Reep and husband Mark; sister, Karen Wagner and husband Larry; grandchildren, Justin Padgett, Ashley Reep, and Levi Reep; and great grandson, Wyatt Padgett and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services, Mt. Holly with Rev. David Philbeck officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.  Burial to follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
