Peggy Fowler Smith

While Peggy was employed in several jobs throughout her life, her main tasks was being a wife and mother, raising her children in the community of Christian faith, and training them to be independent and loyal members of society.  She believed in showing compassion and helpfulness whenever possible.  But she was also quick to call out wrongs.  A word to describe Peggy is "feisty."  She will truely be missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her 4 children, Tony Smith (wife Gail) of Denver, NC; Debbie Hamrick (husband Dickie) of Mt. Holly, NC, Ronnie Smith (wife Connie) of Sherrills Ford, NC, and Cheryl Smith (husband Baron) of Iron Station, NC; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Kay Vinson and Sandra Roberts of Union, SC; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Funeral services to celebrate Peggy's life will be Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Sunset Road Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Randy Wadford officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.  Interment will follow immediately after the service at Forest Lawn West Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sunset Road Baptist Church, 2317 Sunset Rd, Charlotte, NC 28216.

Ms Peggy, I look across the street and can still see you sitting on that porch chatting away with your MULTIPLE visitors - family and friends. I will forever cherish the "Hey. Le-la" anytime I walked by. I loved our visits on that porch with all your adopted kitties. Also - fussing at you for feeding that raccoon and possum outside your kitchen window - lol!!! So many precious memories of you and the Smith family- I would have to write a book!! My greatest comfort is knowing that you are with our Lord and all the family and friends that passed before you. Prayers for the Smith family…. Ms Peggy - you keep them on their toes up there - you hear???? 😆 I sure love you 💕
