Patricia Ann Ward

October 1, 1938 — February 16, 2024

Lincolnton

Patricia Ann Ward, 85, passed away at her residence in Lincolnton on February 16, 2024. Born in Gaston County to the late Howard and Lithia Polk on October 1, 1938, Patricia brought warmth and joy to all who knew her.
Fondly remembered for her passion for cooking and dancing, Patricia's lively spirit brightened every room she entered. Her deep love for her family was evident in the care and compassion she showed to everyone around her. Patricia's generous nature knew no bounds; she consistently went above and beyond to help those in need, touching countless lives along the way.
Beyond her hobbies, that included trips to the beach and mountains, Patricia found true fulfillment in being surrounded by her loved ones. She was a pillar of strength and support for her family and friends, always ready to offer a listening ear or a comforting embrace.
In addition to leaving behind treasured memories in the hearts of many, Patricia is survived by her children, Hanckel Ward, Jeffery Ward, and Schanda Ward; sisters, Mary Blackman and Peggy Sheets (Gene); brother, D.L. Polk (Carolyn); grandchildren, Scott, Timothy, Matthew, Josh, Joseph, Nathan and Braxton; and great-grandchildren, Carson Mintz and Austin Medlin.  In addition to her parents, Patricia was also preceded in death by her sons, Michael Ward, Johnny Ward, and Eddie Ward; daughter, Teresa Ann Mintz; sisters, Janet Coffey and Linda Ward; and brother, Benjamin Polk.
We will gather to honor the life of this remarkable woman at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services in Mt. Holly on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.  The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
