Patricia Viola King McGraw

Patricia Viola King McGraw, of Mt. Holly, passed away on November 5, 2023 at the age of 72, at The Greens of Gastonia. She was born on October 10, 1951, in Gaston County, North Carolina to the late Ernest Eugene King and Mattie Hester King.  She is also preceded in death by her sister, Vickie Diane King Doss. Patricia's warm and loving nature left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.

Known for her unwavering devotion to her family, Patricia's fondest memories centered around the joyous gatherings during family holiday dinners. These special moments brought everyone together, creating cherished memories that will be forever treasured.

Patricia was not just a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother; she was the gentle heart that kept her family united. Her love knew no bounds as she nurtured and supported each member of her family with kindness and affection. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she showered them with endless love and doting attention.

Outside of her role as a homemaker, Patricia found immense joy in pursuing her hobbies and interests. Together with her husband Eddie, she was an avid bowler. They spent countless hours at the bowling alley, enjoying friendly competition and shared moments filled with laughter. Patricia's unwavering support for Eddie as his biggest fan and cheerleader during his bowling tournaments highlighted their strong bond.

Patricia leaves behind her loving husband of 32 years, Eddie McGraw, who stood beside her through every joy and challenge that life presented. Her children Crystal Thompson, William Lee Ervin (Maria), Joseph Lee Doss, Tonya McGraw (Wes), and Belinda McGraw will forever hold their mother's love close to their hearts.

In addition, Patricia is survived by her brother, Sonny King (Brenda) and sisters, Rebecca Barkley (Glenn) and Connie Russell. Patricia's legacy of love and kindness will also live on in the hearts of her 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Patricia's compassion extended even to her beloved fur baby, Peanut. A constant source of joy and companionship, Peanut brought comfort to Patricia's life.

A memorial service will be held to honor Patricia's life on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Bessemer City Church of God, 703 Gastonia Highway, Bessemer City, NC 28016. The service will start at 4:00 PM.

Patricia Viola King McGraw will forever be remembered for her unconditional love, her unwavering support, and the joy she brought into the lives of others. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew her. May her soul find eternal peace, surrounded by the love that she so selflessly shared during her time with us.
