Mildred Irene Johnson

January 7, 1931 — September 22, 2016

Mildred Todd Johnson, 85, passed away peacefully September 22, 2016 at Terrace Ridge Assisted Living in Gastonia.  Ms. Johnson was born in Horry County, SC on January 7, 1931 to the late Ernest and Leitha Bryant Todd.  She was also preceded in death by her former husband of 50 years, William Jennings "Bill" Johnson.  She retired from Sears catalog department and was a former member of East Baptist Church in Gastonia and currently a member of Berryhill Baptist Church in Charlotte.  She loved living at Terrace Ridge and the staff and care they gave to her.  She requested to tell each of the staff members "Goodbye and thank you."  Her favorite times there were riding on the Terrace Ridge facility bus and going out to eat.   Survivors include her children, Rosemary J. Ledford and husband Doyt, Ken Johnson and wife Janice, and Ron Johnson; Brother, Ray Todd and wife Faye ; Grandchildren, Carey L. Roberts and husband Timothy, Katie L. Goforth and husband Aaron, and Jill Johnson; Great grandchildren, Jackson and Henry Roberts and Thomas and Michael Goforth.  Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 25, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Charlotte with the Reverend Alan Beard officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made at Crisis Pregnancy Center, 700 Robinson Rd., Gastonia, NC 28054 or to Charleston Autism Academy, 930 Pine Hollow, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 or to the Charity of your choice.
