Melinda Faye Amick

Melinda Faye Amick, 56, of Stanley died Oct. 19 at Novant Health of Huntersville. Mrs. Amick was born in Nicholas County, WVA on February 28, 1957 to the late Destal Hanna and Glady Brooks Hanna. She was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Stanley and loved her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, collecting recipes, computer games and facebooking. She also enjoyed camping and traveling with her husband.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Rev. Joe Amick. Children; Lisa Rucker and husband Philip of Rock Hill, SC, Joe Amick, Jr. and wife Tonya of York, SC and Amanda Frias and husband Bernard of Denver, NC. 3 sisters and 1 brother and also 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services to celebrate Melinda's life will be held at 5:00PM Tuesday Oct. 22 at Amazing Grace Baptist Church, 7280 Sifford Rd., Stanley with Reverend Mike Pittman officiating. Sunset Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 3:00PM prior to the service.
