Melanie Lynn Simpson Shamel

Melanie Lynn Simpson Shamel, 52, of Lexington, NC passed away on June 12, 2022.  She was born on April 23, 1970 to the late Glendon and Carolyn Simpson.  She is also preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Violet Randolph and Mabel Hack and her Godmother, Maudie Shuler.  Melanie was an active member and volunteer at her church, Journey Church of Lexington.  She was a caregiver to all and loved helping others.  She was a cancer survivor as well as many other medical issues.  Melanie loved animals especially her goats on the farm and her dog, Mae and her cat, Biscuit.  She was a Jeep girl and loved the beach and mountains.

Survivors include her children, Joshua Hayner, Ashley Schlicht (Rob), and Taylor Hovis; sister, Tammie Pierce (Jerry); and grandchildren, McKenzie, Kennedy, and Della.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Journey Church of Lexington, 61 Biesecker Rd., Lexington, NC 27295.
