Matthew "Matt" Allen Whitley

Matthew “Matt” Allen Whitley, also known as “White Shadah” 26, of Gastonia passed away October 19, 2017.  He was born on September 25, 1991 in Gaston County to Nicie “Jan” Garrett Whitley and the late Martie Allen Whitley.  He is also preceded in death by Stepfather, James Kelly; Grandfathers, Edward Thorn and John Whitley; and Grandmother, Nancy Whitley.  Matt enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He also loved listening to music and trips to the mountains.

In addition to his Mother, Jan Whitley, Matt is survived by his brother, Bubba Whitley; his Queen, Miranda Davenport; Children, Kinzi Mae Whitley and Darian Izayiah Whitley; Step Children, Timmy Duane Harris, Jr. and Nathan Wylie Harris; Grandmother, Janell “Peanut” Thorn; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 27, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services, Mt. Holly.
