Mary “Frankie” King, 88, of Mt. Holly passed away on June 7, 2017 at her residence. Frankie was born on June 30, 1928 in Gaston County to the late Paul Absolam Stone and Mary Ingram Stone. She is also preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Lineberger and Clinton King, son, Mike Lineberger and grandson Gary Lineberger. Two stepsons, Arlan and Wayne King, a step-grandson Scott King and sister Varnell Stone and a brother Lanny Stone. She was a longtime active member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and was owner and operator of Frankie King’s Beauty Shop. Frankie loved old time gospel music, quilting, flower gardening and was an artist of making dolls which she had many of. She was a loving and caring person to all the underprivileged and the less fortunate in life. Survivors include her son Steve Lineberger and wife San, Stepson Bobby King and wife Chrysta. Very special friend Charlie Jenkins. Grandchildren, Chris Lineberger, Noel Lineberger (Erin), Sara Altizer (Greg) and step grandchildren Michelle, Renee, Robert and Rebecca King and also 14 great grandchildren. The Family is conducting a Memorial Service to celebrate Ms. King’s life at 11:00 AM Saturday June 10 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 3717 Hickory Grove Rd, Gastonia, NC with the Reverend Tom Kinman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers please make memorials in Frankie’s name to Hospice of Gaston County, PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.
