Maria Bonkowski

Maria Bonkowski, a beloved friend, mother, wife, sister, and grandmother, passed away on October 8th, 2023 at the age of 76. Born on May 22nd, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, Maria touched the lives of all who knew her with her kindness, compassion, and loving nature. Before retiring to her home in North Carolina, Maria resided in Texas.

Maria's proudest accomplishments centered around her role as a devoted wife and mother. She was married to Steven Bonkowski for 30 years, and their union was a testament to love and commitment. As a mother, Maria poured her heart into raising two sons: Jason Briner and Adam Briner. She instilled in them the values of integrity, hard work, and empathy. Maria's unwavering love for her family was truly inspiring.

The bond between Maria and her sisters Eyvonne (Don) and Barbara Hall was unbreakable. They shared countless memories together and provided each other with unconditional support throughout their lives. Maria found solace in the presence of her loved ones, cherishing the moments they spent together.

In addition to being a dedicated parent and sister, Maria embraced the joy of being a grandmother to Willa and Emory. Her love for them knew no bounds, and she cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. The special bond she formed with her grandchildren brought light into her world.

Maria's memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warmth and love will live on in the hearts of family members, friends, and acquaintances alike. As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the remarkable life she led, filled with love, devotion, and unwavering strength.
