Margaret Lucille "Sil" Scarboro

Margaret Lucille “Sil” Scarboro, 81, of Charlotte passed away peacefully Thursday October 3, 2019 at Novant Health in Charlotte. Mrs. Scarboro was born in Charlotte, NC on March 31, 1938 to the late Robert Lee Crosby, Jr and Nellie Steele Crosby. She was also preceded by her sisters Ruth Knight and Dorothy Freeman and a brother Charles Crosby. “Sil” as she was known by, loved fishing and the beach. She was an avid cook, making sure her family was fed, and enjoyed her flowers. Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Darrell L. Scarboro. Children, Debbie Hancock and husband Mike and Robbie Scarboro and his wife Lisa. Sisters, Diane Jones and Mary Frances Lottes and a brother Bobby Crosby. She really loved her granddaughter Tamara Collins and her great grandson Nathan Arant. Favorite niece Sheila Crosby Black and also her loving Pet Poodle Kippy. Memorial Services to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday October 6 at Gordon Funeral Service & Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112 with the Reverend Mack Mullis officiating. Interment will be private. In Lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital, 200 Hawthorne Lane, Charlotte, NC 28204.
