Mae Sheehan

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Mae Sheehan, passed suddenly after a short illness on July 6, 2023.  She leaves behind her partner, Frank Cormier, and three daughters, Terry Sheehan-Civitarese, Cyndee Sheehan, and Christine Auricchio, as well as three sons-in-law, six grandchildren, one granddaughter-in-law, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

For over 30 years, Mae was the owner of Benn-Benn's Italian Kitchen, a restaurant cherished by the Gastonia, NC community.  She enjoyed preparing delicious dishes for patrons and loved getting to know them on a personal level.

She cherished family gatherings, and having a laugh with loved ones.  Mae had a real passion and talent for both the visual, and dramatic arts, creating sculptures, paintings, and performing in community theatre.  Mae had a beautiful singing voice which matched her happy, carefree personality and outlook on life.  She would often say, "Don't sweat the small stuff!"

She will be greatly missed and remembered with fondness and love by her family and friends.
