Larry Keith Bynum

Larry Keith Bynum, 71, of Gastonia passed away March 30, 2023 at his residence.  He was born on July 6, 1951 to the late Alvin Wesley Bynum and Nellie Mae Buchanan Bynum Price.  He is also preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Steven Bynum; daughter, Amanda Hernandez; step-father, Doyle Price; and step-mother, Ruby Bynum.  Larry, also known as "Boogar" by his friends, enjoyed Nascar racing, Carolina Panthers football, and competing in playing horseshoes.  He was a jokester with a priceless sense of humor.  He loved his family and his grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Peggy Cobb Bynum; children, Christopher Mark Bynum (Nancy Ann), Jessica Hernandez (Brandon), Tyler DeWayne Holland, and Seth Zachary Holland; sisters, Jean Bynum Helton (Calvin), Kay Lance (Doug), and Vickie Thompson (John); brother, Joe Darrell Bynum (Betsy); ten grandchildren, Christopher, Leah, Mattie, Eric, Trevor, Mishca, Trinity, Finley, Alyssa, and Madison Olivia; two great grandchildren, Felecity and Andreya; one great granddaughter, soon to be born, Isabella; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services, 101 Oak Grove St., Mt. Holly, NC 28120 with Rev. Doug Lance officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.  Inurnment will be private.
