Kevin "KB" Ray Blanton

Kevin "KB" Ray Blanton, 57, of Mt. Holly passed away on September 30, 2022 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.  He was born on May 7, 1965 to the late Kenneth and Terry McCoig Blanton. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Shannon Blanton and his grandfather, Alger McCoig.  KB attended City Church in Gastonia.  He was a hardworker, loved horses and owned many at one time, enjoyed playing the harmonica, woodworking, and loved decorating for Halloween.  Above all, KB loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Jeremy Blanton (Whitney), Brittany Blanton Lay (Patrick), and Devon R. Blanton; grandmother, Betty McCoig; sister, Angela Blanton (Todd Smith); grandchildren, Kelsey, Kenzleigh, Kaylynn, Brayden, and Kamden; and nephew Andrew Blanton.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mt. Holly with Rev. Dickie Spargo officiating.
