Kay Harris Green, a beloved homemaker, passed away peacefully at the age of 78, on December 13, 2023, at Gastonia Health and Rehabilitation. She was born in Mecklenburg County on April 16, 1945, to the late Billie Harris and Mary Killian Harris.

Kay's life was characterized by her immense love for her family and her unwavering faith in God.  She was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Stanley. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and put them above everything else. Her proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy and pride to her heart.

Drawing inspiration from her infectious sense of humor, Kay had a natural talent for making others laugh. She could light up a room with her infectious laughter and was fondly remembered as a comedian among those who knew her. Kay's storytelling abilities were exceptional, enchanting everyone around her with the vivid tales and stories she would spin.  She enjoyed laughter and being able to laugh with others.

In addition to being a great entertainer, Kay had an array of hobbies and interests that brought joy to her life. She found solace in playing Bingo and would spend hours engrossed in the game. Nature held a special place in Kay's heart as she found peace in watching the birds outside her window, marveling at their beauty and grace.

Among Kay's most treasured memories were the trips she took to the mountains. The serene landscapes provided a sanctuary for reflection, rejuvenation, and quality time with her loved ones. These trips not only allowed Kay to embrace the breathtaking beauty of nature but also afforded her the opportunity to nurture bonds of memories that would last a lifetime.

A Memorial service will be held to celebrate Kay's remarkable life at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services located at 101 Oak Grove St., Mt. Holly, NC 28120 on Saturday, December 16, 2023 with Rev. Mike Pittman and Rev. Barry Cheek officiating. The service will begin at 11:00 AM, providing an opportunity for those whose lives she touched to come together and pay their respects. Following the service, the family will greet friends to share cherished memories.
