Kathy Diane Watts

Kathy Diane Watts, 71, of Kings Mountain passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.  She was born on July 26, 1952 to the late Talmadge and Violet Watts.  She was also preceded in death by her previous husband, James W. Shaw; son, Randal Dale Shaw; sister, Barbara Hudson; Louise Bryson, Sandra Wilson, her brothers Steven and David Watts and a son in law, Timothy Deese.  Kathy was a member of Upper Room Tabernacle Church in Gastonia.  In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and making Afghans. She was dedicated and took pride in her work. She also enjoyed reading and playing solitaire and was a huge movie fan. Kathy was an extraordinary mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to all who knew and loved her.

Left behind to cherish her memories are her son, Brian Shaw (Monica); daughter, Amy Deese; sisters, Kay Owens (Tony) and Janet Owens (Richard); brother, Ricky Watts; and four grandchildren, Raven-Mikeal, Naomi, Daniel, and Charlotte. 
Funeral services to celebrate Kathy's life will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Upper Room Tabernacle Church, 107 N. Washington St., Gastonia, NC 28052, with Pastor Norman Green officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church at Upper Room Tabernacle Church, 107 N. Washington St., Gastonia, NC 28052.
