John Wayne Huffman, age 67, beloved son, brother, father and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence on February 8 , 2024.  Born on March 20 , 1956 to the late John Lee Huffman and Leota Spade of Pence Springs, West Virginia, John's life was marked by resilience, dedication and love for his family.
A true patriot, John served his country with honor as a U.S. Army Veteran. His time in the military instilled in him a deep sense of duty and a strong work ethic that he carried throughout his life. After completing his service, John found fulfillment in various jobs within the construction industry. His dedication shone through in every task he undertook.
While John was known for his hard work and determination professionally, it was within the close-knit circle of his family that he found true joy. He cherished the moments spent visiting with his loved ones—sharing stories, laughter, and creating lasting memories. As a devoted father to his sons Chris and John, he always emphasized the importance of love and loyalty.
John's actions spoke volumes about his character. A proud homebody, he found solace in the comfort of his own abode. He enjoyed spending peaceful moments surrounded by familiarity—perhaps tinkering with projects or simply appreciating life's simple pleasures.
In addition to these passions that shaped him into the remarkable man we celebrate today, it is important to acknowledge those who have preceded him in death. John is reunited in eternal peace with his beloved father and dear brother, Gary Huffman. Their spirits now soar together among the heavens as a beacon of love and unity.
While our hearts ache with the immeasurable loss of John's physical presence, we find solace in the enduring love that remains within our cherished memories. John will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his mother, Leota Spade, and his siblings: Shirley Ward (Dale), Drema Dillon, Theresa Willey (Bobby), Loretta Trout (James), Joni Jones (David), sister-in-law, Frances Bailey Huffman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Throughout his life, John was a guiding light in their lives, and his spirit will continue to burn brightly alongside them.
In reflecting upon the life of John Wayne Huffman, it is clear that he instilled a sense of perseverance and devotion within all those fortunate to have known him. Let us remember him not for the sorrow of his passing but for the joy he brought to our lives. May we carry his memory in our hearts, forever grateful for the gift of having known such an extraordinary soul.
Though parted from us physically, John's spirit continues its journey—an everlasting testament to a life fully lived. As we mourn the loss of a dear friend or family member taken too soon from this world, we find solace in the belief that those who leave us never truly leave. Instead, they become an eternal presence in our hearts, guiding and inspiring us each step of the way.
John Wayne Huffman, you will forever be missed and cherished. May your soul find eternal peace as your memory lives on amongst us. Rest well, dear friend, father, son, and brother.
