James "Jimmy" Reece Jackson

August 14, 1944 — December 27, 2017

James "Jimmy" R. Jackson, 73, of Belmont passed away December 27, 2017 at his residence.  Jimmy was born in Charlotte on August 14, 1944 to the late James W. and Lib Watkins Jackson.  He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Lowell.  Jimmy enjoyed fishing, in fact, he never missed his annual fishing trip to the Outer Banks with his friends for 40 years.  He also enjoyed baseball, softball, camping, and loved the beach.  After 37 years of service, Jimmy retired from Clariant Corporation, formerly Sodyeco.  He loved his family dearly but especially loved his wife of 54 years.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Jackson; Children, Tammy Price and husband Mark, and Cathey Queen and husband Tim; Brother, Richard Jackson; Sister, Julia Harper; Grandchildren, Jamie Queen and fiance Amber Chestine, and Kristen Smith and husband David; Great Grandchildren, Madison Green, Lucas Smith, Gage Smith, Kileigh Queen, and Meleny Queen.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Jimmy's life will be held Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Benson Funeral Services, Mt. Holly with Rev. Walter Griggs of McAdenville Baptist and Rev. Jason Marlowe of Tuckaseegee officiating.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Inurnment will be private.
