Ivan Vance Daugherty

Ivan Vance Daugherty, a cherished husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away on May 12, 2025, at Stanley Total Living Center. Born on November 20, 1943, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, Ivan was the son of the late Vance and Opal Daugherty. His legacy will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved him.

Ivan dedicated his life to his family and his faith. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 61 years, Vicki Beam Daugherty, whose companionship blossomed into a beautiful journey together. Their son, Donivan Vance Daugherty and his wife Brandy, continue the family traditions, embodying the values instilled in them by Ivan. He took great pride in his role as a grandfather, and he was similarly adored by his grandchildren, Emily LeVan and husband Zach and Isabel Daugherty, as well as his great-grandchildren, Mason Vance LeVan and Nathan Monroe LeVan, who brought immense joy to his life. Ivan is also survived by his sister, Sherry Payne and husband Mike Payne, as well as his nieces, Lori Payne Kerr and husband Drew Kerr and Candace Payne Fox and husband Eric Fox and their children Connor and Teagan.

Ivan was a devoted member of Christ United Methodist Church, where he actively contributed to the community as a board member, Sunday school teacher, and cook for the men's breakfast. His service to the church reflected his generous spirit and unwavering dedication to helping others.

An avid traveler, Ivan cherished the experiences he shared with his loved ones as they explored various national parks, including the breathtaking landscapes of Yellowstone National Park. These memories of adventure and exploration stand as a testament to his vibrant personality and love for nature.

Ivan is preceded in death by his daughter, Dayna Daugherty, and his brother, Duane Daugherty, both of whom he held dearly in his heart. The impact he made on the lives of those around him will be felt for generations to come.

A visitation to honor Ivan's memory will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Christ United Methodist, located at 8020 Bellhaven Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28216, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 8020 Bellhaven Blvd, Charlotte NC 28216.
