Harvey Samuel "Sam" Michaels III

Harvey Samuel “Sam” Michaels, III, 81 of Gastonia went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 9, 2026 at Robin Johnson Hospice facility in Dallas. He was born on July 31, 1945 to the late Harvey Samuel “Mike” Michaels, Jr and Earleen Dixon Michaels. He was a member of Love Memorial Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all.

He was proceeded in death by his loving wife, Doris McCarn Michaels and his brother, Bruce Michaels; sister-in-law, Rosalyn McCarn.

Survivors include his sons, Harvey Samuel Michaels, IV(Tracy) and Thomas Anthony Michaels (Melinda); sister Joetta Huffstetler (MC); sister-in-law, Barbara Michaels; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Brenda Warren (Jimmy); grandchildren, Kendall Brooks (Tyler), Kyle Beane (Amanda), Roman Michaels, Carrigan Michaels and Caroline Michaels; great grandchildren, Josie Beane, Langston Beane, Mollie Brooks, Charlotte Brooks, Gentry Beane and Levi Brooks; numerous nieces and nephews and an abundance of special friends.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026 at 1:00 at Love Memorial Baptist Church, 311 E. Walnut Ave., Gastonia, NC 28054 with Reverend Mike Criswell and David Philbeck officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 11:00 to 1:00.
