Glenda Ann Richardson Scott

August 20, 1956 — April 6, 2024

Stanley, NC

Glenda Ann Richardson Scott, 67, of Stanley, NC, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, transitioned to Heaven at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas, NC on April 6, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born in Ashe County, NC on August 20, 1956, to Billy Joe Richardson and the late Mary Belle Osborne. She is also preceded in death by her father in law, Robert "Pop" Scott.

Before facing health challenges due to Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, breast cancer, and dementia, Glenda lived a life full of love and dedication. She attended North Gaston Church of God where she served as a faithful servant of the Lord as a Sunday School teacher and a dedicated prayer warrior.

Glenda excelled in life with the strength of battling Multiple Sclerosis while still finding joy in everyday activities. She was a strong woman who fought a tough daily battle but despite her physical limitations, she found happiness in being a homemaker, gardening, sewing, and fishing.  She also enjoyed playing basketball, softball and board games with her family. Glenda also enjoyed working on DIY projects around the home with her husband. Her determination and positive spirit shone through in everything she did.

In addition to her father, Glenda is survived by her loving and caring husband of over 50 years, Richard "Rick" Scott; mother in law, Ruby Scott; daughters, Jennifer Hoffman and husband Bryan of Bessemer City and Sabrina Metts and husband Joe of Dallas, NC; cherished grandchildren who she was so proud of, Brandon Smith and Olivia Metts; brother, Michael Richardson of Belmont; several half brothers and sisters; and a host of other relatives and friends.  She also leaves behind her faithful canine companion, Toby, who was loyal to her throughout her years of sicknesses.

Glenda will be remembered for her unwavering faith, strength, and the love she poured into her family. Her memory will live on through those she touched with her kindness and grace. May she rest in peace knowing that she was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family would like to thank everyone who sent cards of encouragement, phone calls, gifts, and prayers during the years of her illness.  These simple acts of kindness were always uplifting and encouraging to her and brightened her days.  Also, a very special thank you to the staff at the Ivy of Gastonia and the Robin Johnson House who served Glenda's family with the highest level of care and compassion.

Arrangements will be held privately by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Gaston Hospice Robin Johnson House, 2240 Remount Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054.
