Geraldine "Gerry" Sinclair, a cherished soul, left this world on October 6, 2025, at her residence. Born in Gaston County on May 2, 1937, she was the beloved daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Lou Clemmer Hunt. Gerry embodied warmth and creativity, lighting up the lives of everyone she encountered throughout her remarkable journey.
A devoted member of her community, Gerry shared her love of music as a past member of Holy Comforter Lutheran Church in Belmont, where she sang joyfully in the choir and showcased her talents on the piano and organ. She later became a member at Calvary Baptist Church in Charlotte. Thus, every note echoed her passion for life, bringing comfort and happiness to all who heard her perform.
Gerry's heart found delight in the simple yet profound pleasures of life. She loved spending days at the beach, searching for treasures like sharks' teeth and beautiful seashells. Ocean air filled her with inspiration as she attended shows and enjoyed shopping by the coast. Each experience was woven into the vibrant tapestry of her life, one that was further enriched by her creative hobbies. Whether it was sewing, knitting, painting, cooking, embroidery, Macramé knitting, or nurturing her garden filled with colorful flowers, Gerry approached everything with an artist’s touch and a loving spirit.
Surrounded by her loving family, Gerry leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Gerald H. Sinclair, who cherished her deeply; her son, Mike Sinclair and his wife Cheri; her daughter, Lisa Gayle Sinclair and her companion David Christenbury; her sister Cathy Hunt Wilson and husband Don; her grandchildren, Dallas Sinclair and wife Amanda, and Loren Sinclair as well as bonus granddaughters, Jennifer Bailey Jeffries and Gabby Bailey Dempsey; and her great-grandchildren, Palmer Sinclair and Brooks Sinclair and bonus great-grandchildren, Zoe Bailey, Kenzy Dempsey, and Addy Jeffries. Each of them carries forward the love and lessons she imparted, ensuring her spirit will forever remain alive in their hearts.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gerry's life with a visitation at Sunset Road Baptist Church, located at 2317 Sunset Rd., Charlotte, North Carolina, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 11, 2025, followed by a Celebration of Life service at the same location at 12:00 PM officiated by Rev. Rest in peace, dear Gerry; you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
