Georgia Elaine Cowart

Georgia Elaine Cowart, 72, of Mt. Holly, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Robin Johnson House. She was born on July 7, 1954, in Gaston County.

Georgia enjoyed coloring, doing word searches and collected stuffed animals. Her favorite colors were blue and green. Georgia enjoyed gathering at Rita’s Restaurant in Belmont and her stops at McDonalds. Georgia resided at Woodlawn Haven for many years. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her friends she made there.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Cowart and Vergie Phillips Cowart and her son, Charles Cowart in 2024.

Those left to cherish her memory include her legal guardian and special cousin, Barbara Fredrick and her children, Amy Cody and Chris Fredrick; her best friends, Inez Duckworth, Patty Bowman, and Gloria Howe; other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery, 501 S. Main Street, Belmont, NC, with Rev. Steven Goudeaux officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to offset funeral expenses.
