Frankie D. Pope

Frankie D. Norman Smith-Pope, 78, of Kings Mountain, a native of Savannah, NC passed away on December 26, 2018 at Levine Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville.  She was born on October 10, 1940 to the late Wilburn Giles and Annie Vee Buchanan. She is also preceded in death by her husbands, Richard W. Smith and Harold Pope; sister, Gilesper Buchanan; brother, Monroe Buchanan; and son, Charles Norman.  Frankie enjoyed singing and taking care of people.  In her spare time she loved to cook, crochet, and gardening and also enjoyed spending time in the mountains.

Survivors include her son, David W. Smith and wife Melinda; 5 grandchildren, Joshua Smith, Angel Norman, Crystal Smith, Matona Norman, and Vani Norman; and 3 great grandchildren.

The family will hold a Memorial service on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Way of the Cross Baptist Church, 302 Lanier Ave., Mt. Holly with Rev. Bobby Meeks and Rev. George Miller officiating.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
