Evelyn Bland

Evelyn Icenhower Bland, 67, of Dallas, passed away February 5, 2017 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia. Mrs. Bland was born in Andrews, NC on July 30, 1949 to the late Dan and Addie Williams Icenhower.  She was preceded in death by her Daughter, Tonya Leigh Bland and a Sister, Eva Poarch.  Evelyn was an organizing Charter member of the Peter Smith Chapter of DAR.  She loved to fish, enjoyed flowers and gardening, traveling to the beach and mountains.  She especially loved her grandchildren.  Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Bland; Sisters, Elaine Glenn and husband Ken and Martha Parr and husband Willie Jr.; Grandson, Matthew Bland and wife Megan; Great Grandchildren, Myles, Memphis, and Aarron; Nieces, Amy, Karena, and Darlene; Nephews, Ernest Jr., Danny, Jonathan, and James.  She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews. Services to celebrate Evelyn’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday February 8 at Modena Street Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Mauney officiating. Inurnment will be private.
