Ernest "Eddie" Teno

Ernest "Eddie" Teno, 91, passed away peacefully at his home on May 15, 2026, surrounded by his family.

He was born on November 17, 1934, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, to the late Edgar and Violet (Deaton) Teno. Eddie served in the United States Air Force and later retired as a foreman for Erdle Perforating in 1997.

Eddie was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He was the life of the party and a master storyteller who could always captivate a room. He cherished spending time with his family above all else, especially playing golf with his son and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and school functions. He was an avid sports enthusiast and was a devout Duke Basketball and Atlanta Braves fan who never missed watching a game on television.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Violet Teno; his beloved wife of 35 years at the time of her passing, Betty Ann (Hosley) Teno; his brother, Jerry Teno; and his sisters, Dot Walker, Shirley Wilson, Betty Ann Fletcher, Margie Williams, and Carol Gale.

He is survived by his son, Darrell Teno, and daughter-in-law, Tracey, of Mt. Holly; his sister, Sandy Hagler (husband Mark); his three grandchildren, Courtney Jenkins (husband Cody), Maddy Harris (husband Jayce), and Logan Teno; and his great-granddaughter, Elliott Jenkins.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Benson Funeral & Cremation Service, located at 101 Oak Grove Street, Mt. Holly, North Carolina officiated by Pastor Chris Shuford.
