Ellen F. Walters

Ellen Brown Walters, 61, of Huntersville, NC passed away December 17, 2016 at the Harris Hospice Unit Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. Mrs. Walters was born in Mecklenburg County on February 17, 1955 to the late John F. and June Sowadski Brown. She is also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Jackie, Johnny, Sid and June Anne. She was employed the past 16 years at Okuma America Corp. in Charlotte as a Planning and Procurement Supervisor. Ellen enjoyed playing Powerball and enjoyed all sports but mostly the Carolina Panthers and Duke Basketball. Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Jimmy L Walters. Daughter, Lisa Walters Soss and husband Eric. Four sisters Carolyn Johnikin and husband Leonard of Charlotte, Susie Reese and husband Jimmy, Mary Brown and Beverly Lands and husband Mike, all of Augusta, Ga. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday December 27 at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church, 503 North Main St., Belmont, NC 28012 with Father Frank Cancro Officiant.  In lieu of flowers please send contributions in Ellen’s memory to the church building fund
