She called me after my mom and her aunt passed away a few years ago and we caught up briefly on our lives. My condolences to her family. I hope you find yourself smiling as you remember her love for you.

Unlike most, I have known Donna since before she was born. At the time of her birth, we were all young marrieds starting our families. Since I had 5 brothers, I always wanted a little sister. Never got the sister, but eventually ended up with 3 beautiful daughters. Before Donna's birth, her mom (the other Virginia) wanted to give my mom her first grandson. At this time, you never knew what gender child you would get until its actual birth (no such thing as sonar photos were available). Her mother kept insisting she was having a boy, but then it turned out Donna was obviously a girl. Donna was such a beautiful girl and a lovely child, and my mom grew to love her even more than if she had been a boy. Donna took to our family right away, and even begged me to allow her to go with me everywhere. Her mom had the bad judgment to allow Donna to stand up in the seat, which i nagged her about, what if she had to stop suddenly, and Donna got hurt? So told Donna she was welcome to accompany me but had to wear her seatbelt, which she always did. Donna was so precious, and eventually became like a fourth daughter to me. I will miss her so much! With love, her Aunt Virginia

Donna was such a loving and happy person. She loved everyone she come across and never met a stranger. She has been a good friend and neighbor for many years. Loved my girls like they were family. My heart breaks for Steve and her family. I hope in the upcoming months they find peace and comfort.
