I met Don Kirby in 1990 at Catawba Nuclear Station and instantly became a "Gumby" fan! Don most often referred to me as "Yankee" because of my unfortunate luck of being born in New York! He was the kind of person you couldn't help but like and quickly became a good friend! I was saddened by the news of his passing but, I couldn't help but smile thinking about all the good times with him. I will miss his laughter and kindness. Such a memorable character will never be forgotten. Rest in peace Gumby

I worked with Don (Gumby) at Catawba Nuclear and also flew Model Airplanes with him. To this day I have NEVER laughed so hard when we were flying and crashed one. I will miss you brother. Rod

Enjoyed working with Don since the middle 1980's. He was an easy going guy who over the years became one of CNS's better Techs. RIP "Gumby" and for his family we're so sorry for your loss.
