Danny Eugene Turner

Jul 26, 1944 — Oct 4, 2026

Mount Holly

On Sunday October 4th, Danny Eugene Turner left this earth to join his departed family and friends in heaven. He was surrounded by the people he loved and who loved him, in the comfort of his home of more than 50 years. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 59 years, Laura Jean Hale Turner (his Texas-Colorado bride), his children who were his pride and joy, daughter Tracy Turner, and son Brad Turner and his wife, Tammy Turner. Danny was also survived by Marilyn Turner (mother of his grandchildren) - and his grandchildren - the loves of his life who call him “Paw Paw” - Bryson Turner and Bailey Turner McGuire, and her husband, Josh McGuire.

He is also survived by many beloved family members too numerous to count, friends and neighbors with whom he developed deep, genuine and everlasting bonds of true mutual love, respect and friendship over the course of his eight decades-long life.

Danny was a Veteran who served in the U.S. Army. After service, he obtained his Associate’s degree. Danny built his own HVAC and Refrigeration business, which he owned and operated for more than thirty years before retiring to a life filled with golf, a lawn with prize-winning grass, and quality time spent with his loved ones and others who he met in his roles as coach of local little league and with the American Legion, etc. Danny also financially supported charities with missions near and dear to his heart.

He will be missed by many and the loss of him in this world will be felt for many years to come. Everyone who knew and/or met him knew he loved to tell witty jokes, and had entertaining stories and comedic sayings (coined “Danny-isms”), loved music and dancing, had an infectious laugh that filled the room, was passionate about things and people that mattered most to him, and was committed to living a full life with few regrets. He had integrity, spoke his mind, valued people over possessions, and was a force - you felt his zest for life as soon as he entered the room and when you said good-byes each time you parted, you always looked forward to seeing him again.

The family would like to recognize and thank Via Health Partners for hospice and palliative care services and support. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Danny’s honor to Via Health Partners at https://www.viahp.org.

The family would also like to specifically recognize and thank his devoted caregivers - his nieces - Tarra Wilkinson, April Turner and Jennifer Keller - there are no words adequate enough to express the family’s sincere gratitude.

A “Celebration of Life and Memorial” service will be held at a different place at a future date and time. Condolences may be made and favorite stories and memories may be shared online at. And, for those who know him best, we finally now understand the joke : there IS no prune juice!
