Corliss Lynn Wethington, 77, of Mt. Holly, peacefully passed away at her residence on July 26, 2023. She was born on April 8, 1946, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Paul Wagley and Gladys McFarland Wagley.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Dawn Aikens.  Corliss was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose memory will forever be cherished.

After graduating from high school, Corliss pursued her passion for beauty and attended beauty college. She then embarked on a fulfilling career as a hairdresser, bringing joy and confidence to countless clients throughout her many years of dedicated service.

Corliss had a zest for life that was contagious. She approached every day with genuine enthusiasm and made the most of every opportunity that came her way. In her leisure time, she enjoyed indulging in her favorite hobbies such as reading and traveling. The beach held a special place in her heart, as did the excitement of visiting Cherokee casinos. But above all else, Corliss treasured moments spent with her loved ones.

Family meant the world to Corliss and she took great pride in her role as a devoted wife to Gary Wethington for an incredible 46 years.
Corliss was also blessed with another beautiful daughter Pamela Metz who ultimately expanded the boundaries of love in their family unit alongside husband Paul Metz.

In addition to her immediate family members, Corliss leaves behind cherished siblings who were an invaluable support system throughout her life's journey. Her sister Karen Teeguaden, brother Jeff Wagley, and his wife Jackie held a special place in Corliss's heart. Their bond was forged through shared experiences, laughter, and the unbreakable ties of family.

Corliss's role as a grandmother brought immense joy to her life. She adored her grandchildren Bryant King and Shannon King. The joy of Corliss's life was further multiplied with the arrival of her great-granddaughter Dawn King.

Corliss also had a wide extended family consisting of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Her impact on their lives will forever be felt and remembered.

Despite all the love she had in her life, one more significant companion must be recognized - Toby, her beloved Shih Tzu. Toby faithfully stood by Corliss's side, providing comfort and unwavering loyalty throughout the years.

Corliss Lynn Wethington will forever be remembered for her vivacious personality, infectious smile, and genuine kindness towards others. She touched countless lives with her warmth and compassion. Her legacy lives on through the memories shared by those fortunate enough to have known her.
