Carl Lee Montgomery

Carl Lee Montgomery, born on May 18, 1947, in Gaston County, NC, left this world on May 24, 2024, in Charlotte, NC. He was a beloved husband to Rachel Gray-Montgomery and a cherished father to his children: Ella Marie Drumgold and husband Alan Tyson, Vieta Bonsha Benson, Carl Lee Montgomery Jr., and Delmar Brooks. Carl was a dedicated grandfather to Damian and Caliesha. He is survived by his sisters,Janet Beamon and husband Julius, Sandy Montgomery, Brenda Montgomery and brothers Gary Montgomery wife Barbara and Butch Montgomery.

Known for his passion for golf which led to him winning several trophies, Carl was also an enthusiastic Philadelphia Eagles fan. However, his true joy in life came from being a wonderful father and grandfather. His love for playing cards with friends and caring for his lawn and shrubbery brought him immense happiness.

The Celebration of Life service honoring Carl Lee Montgomery will take place on June 4, 2024, at Benson Funeral & Cremation located at 101 Oak Grove St., Mt. Holly, NC 28120. The service will begin at 11:00 AM with friends and family gathering to remember his remarkable life.

Carl is now reunited with his parents Father, Robert Lee Montgomery and Mother, Thelma Burch Montgomery who have gone before him. While we mourn the loss of such a dear soul, we find comfort in the beautiful memories he has left us with. May his kind spirit and loving nature live on in our hearts forever.
