Brooke "Brookie" Nicole Austin

Brooke "Brookie" Nicole Austin, 27, of Mt. Holly passed away on December 3, 2021 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born on February 2, 1994 to James Austin and Tina Whitehead Young. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Gordon Austin and step-father, Marlowe Young. Brooke enjoyed participating in the Gaston County and Mecklenburg County Special Olympics and received various metals throughout. She loved the mountains, any outdoor activities involving water, cheer leading, and bowling. Brooke was very friendly; never meeting a stranger.

In addition to her parents, James Austin and Tina Young, she is also survived by her brother, Daniel Austin; grandparents, Joe and Teresa Wood; grandmother, Margaret Austin; great grandmother, Lucille Whitehead; niece, Braylynn; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; special friends, Bridgett Allen and Chris Crews; and a multitude of other friends.

A Memorial Service for Brooke will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Daystar Baptist Church, 211 Smith Rd., Mt. Holly with Deacon Mac Austin officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
