Brenda Ella Aldridge

March 14, 1949 — May 29, 2016

Brenda R. Aldridge, 67, of Mt. Holly, passed away peacefully May 29, 2016 surrounded by family at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas. Mrs. Aldridge was born in Gaston County on March 14, 1949 to the late Claude Rayfield and Jenette Ramsey Aldridge. She was also preceded in death by a sister Margaret Langley. Brenda was a longtime member of Southern Grace Ministries in Mt. Holly. She was retired from the textile industries with over 30 years of service.  She loved to cook for her family, crocheting, and fishing. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband Steven Aldridge Sr. Children, Daniel Poovey and wife Marie of Lincolnton, David Aldridge and wife Ashley of Mt. Holly, Steven Aldridge and fiance’ Ida of Lowell, Michael Aldridge and wife Tina of Mt. Holly and Michelle Harkey and husband Michael of Stanley. Sister Doris R. Frisbee and brother Clyde Rayfield, both of McAdenville and also Brother James Rayfield of Lake Norman. 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 2 at Benson Funeral Services in Mt. Holly with Rev. Clarence W. Aldridge officiating. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
