Blaine Lawing

Blaine Lawing, 84, of Belmont passed away February 25, 2020 at his residence.  He was born on June 23, 1935 to the late John and Frankie Garrett Lawing.  He is also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Lawing and sister, Gwen Baucom.  Blaine was a previous Master at the Masonic Lodge in Belmont.  He had an avid love of music; especially gospel and he enjoyed playing the guitar.  He had an artistic hand for making guitars, fiddles, and mandolins. 

Blaine is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Loretta Lawing; daughters, Debbie Calvert and husband Eddie, Tammy Short and husband Michael, and Lynn Brooks; son, Tim Lawing and wife Susan; brother, Johnny Lawing and wife Margaret; 6 grandchildren, Melissa and husband Aaron, Jonathan and wife Erin, Jeffrey, Brandon and wife Allison, Wade and wife Courtney, and Carmen; and 6 great-grandchildren, Keylee, Noah, Landon, River, Charlotte, and Lily.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Baptist Church, Lowell with Rev. Tim Lawing and Rev. Wade Lawing officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Belmont.
