Belinda Hucks Thomas, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on June 29, 2025, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, North Carolina. She was born on March 31, 1951, in Statesville, North Carolina, to the late Melton and Lucille Pope Hucks.
Belinda led a vibrant life filled with passions that brought joy to her and those around her. She had a profound love for motorcycling riding, which allowed her to experience the thrill of the open road. The beach and mountains were her havens, where she found solace and happiness. Her fondness for lake fishing demonstrated her appreciation for nature's tranquility. A true enthusiast of music, she cherished Friday night live music events, where she connected with the rhythm of life. Belinda enjoyed laughter and found great amusement in watching funny videos, particularly the humorous Ring Camera clips showcasing the antics of everyday life.
A proud mother and grandmother, her greatest accomplishments were her children and family. Belinda is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Thomas and Shannon McKinney and her husband, Paul; step-sons, Lee Thomas and Wayne Thomas; five grandchildren, Nathan Carswell, Joshua Thomas, Kasey Awad, Ryan Awad, and Trey McKenney; six step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brothers, Melton Hucks and his wife Connie, and Larry Hucks and his wife Cathy.
Belinda is preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Thomas, and her parents. Her loving spirit and zest for life will be remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy continues through her family, who will honor her memory and the joy she brought to their lives.
