Barbara Ann Norris

Barbara Ann Garrison Norris, 90, of Gastonia, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 3,

2026, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. Barbara lived a life defined by faith,

devotion to family, and quiet strength. Born on April 12, 1936, in Lincoln County, North

Carolina, she touched the lives of those around her through her kindness, perseverance, and

unwavering belief in God.

Barbara spent many years working in the textile industry, where her strong work ethic and

dedication reflected the values she carried throughout her life. More importantly, she was a

loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend whose greatest joy came

from caring for her family.

Her faith was the foundation of her life. She found comfort and guidance in reading her Bible

and approached life's joys and challenges with grace and trust. Barbara also enjoyed simple

pleasures—working word-search puzzles, eating her favorite sweets, and spending time with

those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Marvin Norris; her daughters,

Sandra Kay Ray and Susan Kiser Lee; and three siblings. Though their loss weighed heavily on

her heart, she continued to be a source of love and encouragement to her family.

Barbara leaves behind a legacy carried on by her daughter, Kathy Denton and husband Gary,

seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will cherish her

memory and the lessons she taught through her example.

Those who knew Barbara will remember her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and deep love for her

family. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love a gift that will continue to

live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
