Anita Dibenio

Anita L. Dibenio, born on December 11, 1946, peacefully passed away on February 16, 2026, at Caromont Regional Hospital in Gastonia. She leaves behind a legacy of love, community involvement, and cherished family bonds.

An active member of the Union Church of Herald Harbor in Crownsville, Maryland, Anita was deeply committed to her faith and contributed significantly to her church's activities. Her vibrant spirit extended beyond the church, as she was also a proud member of the Red Hat Club, where she found camaraderie and joy among fellow members.

Anita had an unyielding passion for life, which was evident in her love for shopping at Goodwill Industries, where she enjoyed discovering treasures. She also cherished moments fishing with her husband at South Haven River, creating lasting memories together in nature's embrace. Family gatherings at Sunny Shores Beach brought her immense joy, as did her visits to the Moose Club, where she shared laughter and friendship.

Anita is survived by her children, Tina Walker (Michael), Robin Phillips (Warren), and Randy Alexander. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Penny Carver, and her brothers, Charles Witt (Judy), Eugene Carver (Trudy), and Rick Carver (Lucy). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Cody, Savannah, and Remington, along with her great-grandchildren, Blake, Addison, Caroline, Harrison, Lennon, Jasmine, and a great grandson expected soon. Anita's family also includes numerous nieces and nephews from her husband's family who cherished her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Helen Heard Witt Carver, and her husbands, James Alexander and most recently, Joseph "Joe" Dibenio 

A Celebration of Life for Anita will be held on February 22, 2026, at Vision Church, located at 143 Church St, McAdenville, NC, beginning at 4:00 PM with Rev. Matt Vanderbilt officiating.This gathering will honor her extraordinary life and the profound impact she had on all who knew her.

Anita L. Dibenio will be remembered not only for her warmth and kindness but also for her unwavering commitment to her family and community. Her spirit will continue to inspire those she loved, leaving a lasting impression on their lives.
