W.H. "Ray" Vaughn

W.H. "Ray" Vaughn, 88, of Belmont passed away on January 30, 2021 at his residence.  He was born on April 24, 1932 to the late Chris and Jerrean Putnam Vaughn.  He is also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Claire Vaughn.  Ray was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.  He was a longtime member at Belmont Foursquare Church where he was part of The Kingsmen Men's Group.  Ray enjoyed working mechanically on vehicles; mostly Volkswagen's.  He was always available to help when needed and cared for all his family and friends.  He was always helping his children and grandchildren work around the house.

Survivors include his children, Robyn Vaughn Barnhardt and husband Mac, Pastor Chris Vaughn and wife Lisa, and Jim Vaughn and wife Robin; sisters, Faye Hollingsworth and Joyce Vaughn Hogan; brothers, J.D. Vaughn and wife Rosie and Dick Vaughn and wife Judy; grandchildren, Maggie, Paden, Sarah Beth, Molly, Luke, Chad, Kayla, and Jaden;  and great grandchildren, Jaxon, Ava, Reid, Emma, Evie, and Ella Katherine.  The family would like to extend a special thank you for the care and friendship to his special friends Allen McEwen and wife Karen and Pastor Kevin Ford and wife Delaine.

Funeral services will be held on April 17, 2021, 2:00 PM at Belmont Foursquare Church. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Belmont Foursquare Church, 8 Elizabeth St., Belmont, NC 28012.
